Windrush Farm
Local youth in Grades three through six volunteer their time to Windrush Farm by assisting the staff in all aspects of keeping horses. The farm offers a therapeutic riding program for disabled people of all ages. Volunteer jobs include helping at the Special Olympics, brushing the horses, cleaning tack, sweeping the barn and/or hayloft, and preparing for their annual Farm Day.
Sign-ups are now through October 1, 2009. Adult drivers are needed to carpool from the school to the farm. In addition, chaperones are needed to take turns supervising each month, the number varies according to the activity in that month.
