Middle School Mission Trip

Middle School Mission TripMiddle school youth are invited to attend a three-day introductory community service opportunity located in the New England area. We are joined by the middle school youth group from the Congregational Church of Topsfield. The emphasis of these trips are community service and education.  During the evening there is a Reflection of the day with spiritual readings and discussion, as well as information topics about issues of global hunger, environmental impact on hunger and what we can do to help as a youth community.

Our next Middle School Mission Trip is scheduled for September 17-19, 2010. Heifer International Global Village Overnight Experience – Rutland Farm. The realities of obtaining shelter, food, water and firewood. An existence in which nothing can be taken for granted.

Heifer’s Global Village programs show participants that sometimes having a little means a lot. We will be spending multiple days and one night in a village representing one of the regions in which Heifer works, participants will be taken through the daily struggles that impoverished people face every day.

In living the lives of others, you’ll find that something extraordinary happens. Your attitudes about individual action, community cooperation, and sustainable solutions for global hunger, poverty and the environment will be transformed. Your understanding of the world – and your place in it – will change forever.
